Her Flaming Vision will have players fight for Callis’s Command Bolt, but doing so won’t be easy. There are a few errands to run first, and a mission that some players might need a walkthrough for to ensure that they do everything right and avoid/fix any bugs that they might experience throughout. Below, players can find a full guide for the Her Flaming Vision quest in Borderlands 4, along with any bug fixes that you could run into to ensure the best performance possible against Callis and her Ripper hordes.
If you are experiencing the UHV bug that requires you to complete “Her Flaming Vision” in the “Even More Ultimater Vault Hunter” challenge, then change your UVH Rank to UVH 3 and re-do the Wildcard mission at Moxxi’s Bottoms Up.
Talk to Levaine and Meet Zane at the Cliffside in Borderlands 4
Should You Test Ramp or Talk to Zane and Skip Test?
With the Her Flaming Vision mission acquired, enter Carcadia and find Levaine sitting on a chair. After speaking with her for a brief moment, you will need to follow her a few steps to watch rockets fire towards Elpis. After which, it’s time to head west to meet Zane at the cliffside. Zane will give players a Zaney Bomb, which can be placed on the rock wall that blocks the boost ramp towards Callis’s fortress. Once the bomb has been placed and shot, the wall doesn’t move, so hop on your vehicle and speed through the boost pad to hit the wall and destroy it.
Now, Zane will get you to test the ramp that he’s built, but you shouldn’t do that. If players decide to test the ramp, they will plummet to their deaths, and they will end up losing Cash when they respawn. No matter how fast players are going, they cannot make the jump. Instead, talk to Zane so that you can proceed with the next part of the quest, which involves stealing a spatial accelerator at the Gunworks.
It’s important that players do not quit the game once they reach the Gunworks, and they should only quit the game after they acquire the Spatial Accelerator from the Drilldozer, as doing so could result in the Drilldozer disappearing.
How to Find the Spatial Accelerator and Beat the Drilldozer in Borderlands 4
Once you head north and reach the Gunworks, you’ll need to manually open the door simply by interacting with it. Now, enter inside and begin killing all of the Rippers located here. After killing them all, head northeast to find and climb the rocks by a large drill site, where Zane will then direct you to a large locked door in the southwest region. Upon approaching these doors, they will open and reveal the behemoth Drilldozer. Players can approach the Drilldozer from behind and jump onto it with a double jump and mantle, and once on board, it’s best to destroy the 2 turrets and then hit the red button.
Sadly, the Drilldozer’s override is locked, so it’s time to jump off the Drilldozer and climb to the top of the crawler, which is achieved by looking up and grappling. On the crawler, you need to kill the Rippers to spawn Holey Moley, who can then be killed to grab the Drill Overdrive Key. With the key, return to the Drilldozer and insert it into the slot beside the red button, which will open up the forcefield-protected room with the core below. After interacting with the valves and then the lever, you can pick up the Spatial Accelerator and return to Zane.
If your game crashed or you quit while in the Drilldozer section, try restarting your game or repeatedly respawning/fast traveling to see if the floor reappears. If the bug persists, check in at Borderlands 4 – Live Issues to submit an official bug report.
How to Reach Callis's Fortress in Borderlands 4
How to Find Callis's Lair
Some players might think Her Flaming Vision is bugged due to the enemy levels being 3+ higher, but that’s just to add to the challenge. If this is affecting your game, then enter the settings and change difficulty to Easy to make things a tad smoother. This will adjust the damage values at the cost of XP.
Once you return to Zane, you can install the spatial accelerator beside him and then start the generators by activating the levers. Now, enter your digirunner vehicle and back up a bit, and then boost onto the launch pads to fly across the crater to land safely inside Prostration Road. Follow the linear path past the Rippers and Order, where, upon reaching Fallen Crown, you will have activated a Fast Travel Station that you can use if you want to come back here later. Once you’ve made it to the doors of the fortress, you’ll need to kill all of the Rippers and then kill Mudmouth and his friends at the main door, found at the north-west side of the area. Upon doing so, Callis will unlock the main entrance, and players can enter the Moon-Called Throne.
Once inside, continue through the linear path and kill any Ripper that might prevent progress. There are some locked doors that will open after Callis gives her speech, but if they still don’t open, just kill the Rippers nearby to ensure the Rippers on the other side come out. Eventually, you will find a terminal that needs to be hacked, so interact with it and kill all present enemies to see the door unlock. Further inside is the Moon-Called Threshold, and Callis’s boss room.

Here’s a Legendary loot drop table for Callis the Ripper Queen in case you want to farm her after the mission!
When you’re ready to fight the main boss, jump into the meat grinder which will see the Vault Hunter pushed into Callis’s arena. After a brief cutscene, 3 Suicidal Rippers will charge you, so kill them before they can explode. Callis isn’t too hard of a target to kill, and she will have an Armor health bar (yellow) and then a Flesh health bar (red). Armor is weak to Corrosive/Cryo, and Flesh is weak to Incendiary. Callis has two attack modes. The first mode sees her stomp around with her robot legs, which send a radius of fireballs outwards and inwards. Callis will also get on all fours and dash around the arena, becoming a harder target to hit, while she tries to separate the distance between you, so try to keep some decent range on her.
After a while, Callis will become invulnerable to damage, and she will sit in her spider nest. The only thing you can do in this section is wait her out, so kill any spawning Rippers and avoid the webbing she places on the battlefield, or else you will be slowed. Once Callis is dead, pick up her Command Bolt and enter through her tunnel on the north side with a grapple to open the Red Chest. Now, open your map and scroll to the start of the Moon-Called Throne to view Kairos on the Level Travel Station, and then fast travel to Carcadia to speak with Levaine and Zane to complete the quest.
