Cowell found the back of the net in the 26th and 63rd minute en-route to their massive victory. The strikes came from some instinctive runs on the top of the box, with Chivas moving him from the wing to a central role. He earned Man of the Match in his CCC debut for the Liga MX club.

Cowell scored his first goals for the Mexican club since his $4m transfer from MLS side San Jose Earthquakes. He's following the footsteps of fellow American striker Brandon Vazquez, who also moved to Liga MX this January, but instead to Monterrey. The duo have both added two-goal games to their resume in recent weeks, with both fighting for roster spots with the USMNT this summer.
Vazquez, likely with the team at Copa America, while Cowell will be shooting for a spot on the Olympic team in the Paris Games.
